Ever watched relatives, friends, coworkers or fellow travelers wielding needles and yarn to create wonderful knitted items and wondered how they do it? Sign up for one of our beginning knitting classes and learn for yourself! In just four weekly sessions you will learn the basic skills necessary to begin creating your own fabulous projects.
All materials are provided and include enough yarn to make a hat and scarf, two circular knitting needles, a crochet hook for fixing mistakes and a darning needle for weaving in ends. The weekly spacing of classes allows time between sessions to practice and reinforce what you learned in class. (Yes, this is homework!)
First Week - Learn to cast on and the knit stitch.
Second Week - Review cast on and knit stitch. Learn the purl stitch and how to read your stitches.
Third Week - Learn to fix mistakes, rip out, tink, knit in the round and start your hat.
Fourth Week - Learn to increase, decrease, yarn over, add yarn, determine gauge, bind off and weave in ends. Finish your hat and start your scarf.
